Chapter 1: An illustrated story of his life, personality, work and passion for indigenous plants, using a tribute by his niece Joan Jordaan, née Naudé (available only in Afrikaans) and talks by his nephew Wouter “Wollie” du Toit Naudé as well as other documents, as a basis. Included are unpublished letters from the artist to his nephew “Wollie” in his last years of life 1938-1941, as well as 2 letters from Aunt Julie Naudé, née Brown, a few from Emily Hobhouse and congratulatory note on his engagement from General Jan Smuts, plus photos of the originals.
Chapter 2: An illustrated overview and chronology attempt of Naudé’s paintings showing his departure from his European art education to adapt to the South African landscape and develop his unique style, drawing from a 1975 M.A. UNISA Thesis by Adriaan Jacobus Roets (available in Afrikaans only).
Chapter 3: A brief description of his Huguenot roots.
Conclusion: A posthumous description of the Hugo Naudé House and Art School and general reception of his work.
